“The month-end stopped being a two-day job”

Sunrise Apparels runs a nine-person unit in Pune. Attendance came in on paper from the floor supervisor, went into one spreadsheet, and was retyped into a second one that computed EPF and PT by hand. The CA visited on Thursdays and rebuilt the journal from payslip PDFs.

Abhinav pasted the register into the agent on a Tuesday. Nine employees, nine mapped columns, one ambiguous one — the bank account column was labelled “A/C No.” and could have been a UAN. He answered the question and the register existed.

The first run took forty minutes, most of it marking a month of attendance that had never been digital. The August cycle was approved on the 31st, payslips went out to eight of nine employees the same evening, and the ninth — Vikram, who had no personal email on file — showed up as a failed delivery rather than a silent gap.

“What sold it was the journal. My CA opened it, said ‘this balances’, and stopped asking me for the payslip PDFs.”
